Kimberly Dillard can raise money. No one can tell her
no and she’s never met a stranger.
She heads up our telemarketing and fundraising. Fundraising is
about contacts, personality and persistence. Many people overlook
the power of film and video to tell a compelling story that creates
the right mood for raising additional monies. One video one of
our people did was shown at a fundraising dinner for an average
size church in a small Texas town and after setting the right
mood for the church leaders, they were able to give one more call
to the attendees, all of who had already given to the capital
campaign in hand. The result was $387,000 in one evening over
one dinner. The video cost only $3000 to make and when the lights
came back on, there wasn’t a dry eye in the place. Leonard
Sweet calls video the language of today’s youth. He’s
right.
